Tom Britten – Assistant Trainer
Tom joined the Alastair Ralph team in July 2022 having previously worked for several eminent National Hunt trainers including Nicky Henderson and Oliver Sherwood. He brings with him a wealth of racing knowledge. Tom grew up in a family passionate about racing and point to pointing and outside of work he trains his family point to pointer. Having had 53 rides pointing, last season he decided to hang up his boots and leave it to the ‘professionals’, we think that was a wise choice! When not with horses, Tom enjoys a round of golf with the lads.
Vicki Wood – Head Person (Riding)
Vicki is into her fifth season with us. Having previously spent time working in Dubai and even riding a few on the flat. Vicki has extensive knowledge of the sport and has a keen interest in our flat horses which she does the race planning along with Alastair. Vicki is an extremely important cog in the Alastair Ralph racing wheel; with her positive outlook no matter what the weather, she keeps a smile on everyone’s face. Outside of work Vicki spends time with daughter Isabella who looks to have just as much interest in the sport as her mum!
Murray Dodd – Conditional Jockey
Murray is our conditional jockey going into the 2023/24 season. He started out with us a few days last year while being freelance but is now with us most days. Murray is a competent and experienced point-to-point jockey. We look forward to seeing Murray progress through the season. Outside of work Murray is also a keen golfer.
Laura Runciman – Media Manager/Travelling
Laura joined the team in July 2022 and carries out a very varied role including riding out and travelling as well as overseeing our website and social media platforms. Laura grew up competing in pony club and subsequently British Eventing competitions before going on to initially work for 5* event rider Andrew Nicholson prior to moving into the racing industry.
Sam Walker – Senior Stable Lass
Sam has recently joined the team in August 2023. She will be assisting Kitty on the yard and has extensive knowledge and experience having worked in the thoroughbred industry for more than 20 years. Outside of work Sam is very busy helping her two daughters and their ponies to enjoy huge success showing at the highest level.
Fleur Tyler-Morris – Racing Secretary
Fleur has worked in the administrative side of the racing industry for more than 15 years and is responsible for a lot of the administrative tasks here at Alastair Ralph racing. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her daughter Lula and her coloured cob Della.
Lara – Part Time Stable Lass
Lara started working for us part time at the beginning of the season as a summer job. Since starting College in Ludlow Lara has continued to come and help out on her days off where she has grown in confidence with her riding. Outside of work Lara keeps busy riding and competing her own horses.
Zara – Part Time Stable Lass
Zara has worked for us since the beginning of last season. Zara has a keen interest in racing and is continually expanding her knowledge of the sport. Outside of work Zara enjoys competing her ex racehorse Baz who she takes showjumping and eventing.
Abi Bradley – Part Time Stable Lass
Abi has worked for us part time for a season now. She helps out on the yard aswell as riding out a few lots. Abi recently started studying at Hartpury College and will be beginning her placement with us from the end of October. Outside of work Abi enjoys competing her horses Penny and Dotty.
